The name of the project Certain Attitude came from a title of composition "A Certain Attitude", written by the late jazz legend James Williams. And for a right reason: highly internationally acclaimed Mulgrew Miller, James Williams, Donald Brown, Woody Shaw are some of the favorite composers of contemporary mainstream of like-minded Gmelin, Pancella and Rivkin.
Tony Pancella's style is risen from undeniable influence of James Williams and deeply rooted in Black American music. One of the Munich most in demand drummers of his generation, Matthias Gmelin is a long-time fan of hard-boppers of the 70-ies and 80-ies such as Miller or Williams . And the last but not least Sieverts is the backbone of this group with his fat, hard-swinging tone.
